Buffalo Chip Bison Tallow Soap

On the frontier, buffalo chips (yes — dried bison dung) were used as fuel for campfires. At Buff Bar® , our Buffalo Chip Soap is a playful nod to that tradition — only our “chips” are the scraps from cutting our soap bars.

Made with pure North American Plains Bison tallow and blended with the odds and ends of our other soaps, each bar helps us live out our promise of zero waste. Instead of discarding cuttings, we reuse them to create a rustic, earthy bar that’s as sustainable as it is practical.

The result is a soap with a strong, earthy scent profile inspired by the frontier — rugged pitch wood, worn leather, and wood smoke. Mixed throughout are pieces of our other soap bars, adding subtle hints of citrus, pine, and mineral freshness that make every batch a little different. Naturally tinted with brown mica, Buffalo Chip is rugged in appearance, rich in lather, and long-lasting in use.
